"Celebrating the Official Inauguration of the Community Water Supply System in Dang Kambet Commune"

📍 On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the official inauguration and commencement of operations of the "Dang Kambet Water Treatment Plant" was solemnly held in Sre Veal Khang Kert Village, Dang Kambet Commune, Sandan District, Kampong Thom Province.

The ceremony was highly honored by the presence of H.E. Ouk Kimsan, Deputy Governor of Preah Vihear Province and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Integrated Water Resources Management Committee for the Stung Sen River Basin; H.E. Prof. Lim Puy, Vice Chairman of the Tonle Sap Authority; and H.E. Prim Rotha, Deputy Governor of Kampong Thom Province. The event also welcomed the French delegation, local authorities, technical working groups, teachers, students, and community members.

💧 About the Project: The project titled "Towards a better access to drinkable water, sanitation, and hygiene in Dang Kambet Commune" aims to improve public health and community well-being by ensuring sustainable, safe, and quality water supply. This initiative is funded by the Loire-Bretagne Water Agency (France), SIGEIF, SIVOM SAGevia, and HAMAP-Humanitaire, through the Tonle Sap Authority. 

🏗️ Key Technical Achievements Include: * An elevated water tank with a capacity of 30 cubic meters (total height of 18.40 meters).

• • An 85-meter-deep groundwater well with a pumping capacity of 4.20 cubic meters per hour, powered by a Hybrid Solar and EDC system.
  • A main pipeline distribution network totaling 4,164 meters in length.
  • A total supply capacity for 200 households, currently connected to community homes, 5 schools, a pagoda, the commune office, and the local police post.

To ensure safety and sustainability, the facility will be managed by a local Water Supply and Operations Committee, which will oversee regular water quality monitoring, customer service, and system maintenance.
